Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for communication intervention for children with mild autism by investigating inference ability of sentence presupposition and comprehension ability of oral syntax expression. The subjects were 12 children with mild autism and 12 children with the same language development age as the children with autism. We investigated differences in inference ability and error patterns according to types of real presupposition and implicit presupposition. We also investigated differences in comprehension ability according to the meaning of grammatical morpheme, syntactic structure, and vocabulary, which are sub - areas of syntax expression comprehension of the children with mild autism and the other children. As a result, it was found that the children with mild autism showed lower performance in terms of real presupposition, implicit presupposition, grammatical morpheme, syntactic structure, and vocabulary than the other children. In addition, there was no statistically significant effect of interactions between each children group and the types of presupposition. There was a significant effect between two children groups statistically. Finally, there is a high correlation between implicit presupposition and the syntactic structure of meaning. Therefore, it was found that children with autism had a limitation in inference ability to integrate the semantic information in the context of various communication.
