독점보험 시장에서 생명보험 전매제도 도입에 대한 이론적 고찰

본 연구는 독점적인 생명보험시장에서, 보험계약자가 해약을 할 가능성이 있는 경우 장기 보험계약의 디자인에 대해서 살펴보았다. 먼저 독점인 보험회사는 이익을 극대화할 수 있는 보험료를 책정하고 그 결과 계약자의 효용은 유보효용 수준에서 결정되나, 계약자의 위험은 최대한 헷지된다. 또한 매기 동일한 보험료인 평준보험료가 책정되며. 0보다 큰 해약환급금이 존재할 수 있다. 보험전매시장이 도입되어도 최적계약의 성격은 달라지지 않으며, 전매가격과 해약환급금은 모두 순계약가치와 같다. 최소 해약환급금 규제가 있는 경우 해약환급금은 최소규제금액보다 크거나 같은 수준에서 책정되며, 최소규제 금액이 전매가격을 넘어서는 경우 전매시장은 사라진다.
Abstract
This study investigates the insurance contract design in a monopolistic life insurance market when the insured can surrender the contract. In equilibrium, the insurer can fully extract the consumer welfare, and the insured can fully hedge the risk. The insurance premium is determined as a level premium, and the surrender value can set to be positive. In this case, the introduction of the life settlement makes the settlement price a net contract value. The above results hold even when the surrender value is regulated but lower the settlement price. If the regulated surrender value is higher than the settlement price, settlement market would vanish and the monopoly rent will be decreased.
