Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of moral education in Taekwondo gym. To achieve this purpose, the method used in this study was the qualitative research. The data of this study were collected through the in-depth interviews and literature reviews. The collected data were analyzed by the inductive category analysis. The results of the analysis of interview with the participants are followed. The problems of moral education in Taekwondo gym are the lack of coherence between home moral education and moral education in Taekwondo Gym, the lack of education according to age and level, and the lack of the instructor's professional knowledge on moral education. The direction to which the moral education in Taekwondo gym has to follow came out to be the strengthening of the connection with home, practice of education according to age and level, and education for the instructor on moral education. To resolve the problems of Taekwondo instructor's moral education and take the proper route, the consistent effort to set up the proper perception of Taekwondo instructor's moral education and to upgrade the quality of the instructor. To achieve the improvement of Taekwondo education, Taekwondo instructors have to revise the fundamental principle of Taekwondo, set up the goal of the training of Taekwondo according to the social change, and consistently develop and practice the proper education method.
