본 연구는 대한태권도협회(이하 KTA) 강사 태권도장의 운영 및 교육 프로그램 특성을 분석하여 태권도장의 발전 방향을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 소규모 양적 연구 방법을 활용하여 현재, 태권도장을 운영 중인 KTA 강사 40명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, SPSS WIN 28.0을 사용하여 빈도 분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, KTA 강사 태권도장 대부분은 초등학생을 대상으로 한 혼합도장 형태로 운영되며, 일반 태권도장과 유사한 환경을 보였다. 그러나, 교육 프로그램에서는 품새, 겨루기, 시범 전문반 등 다양한 반편성과 프로그램을 운영하고, 인성 함양을 지도자의 중요한 자질로 강조하며, 체계적인 교육과정을 통해 교육의 질을 높이고 있었다. 또한, 전통적인 태권도 교육과 일치하게 신체 교육을 중시하며, 유희 교육은 배제하는 경향을 보였다. KTA 강사들은 도장운영에서 자신의 철학을 가장 중요한 요소로 간주하며, 신뢰할 수 있는 기관을 통해 프로그램을 개발하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 기존에 다루어지지 않은 KTA 강사 태권도장의 특성을 분석했다는 점에서 학문의 기초로써 의의가 있으며, 실무적으로는 태권도장 운영자와 교육자들에게 관리 및 교육의 질향상을 위한 유용한 지침을 제공한다. 다만, 본 연구는 제한된 표본을 대상으로 하였기 때문에 연구 결과의 일반화에 신중할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze the operational and educational characteristics of Taekwondo dojangs led by Korea Taekwondo Association (KTA) instructors and explores their development. A survey of 40 KTA instructors was conducted using a small-scale quantitative method, with frequency analysis performed in SPSS WIN 28.0. The findings show that most KTA instructor-led dojangs operate as hybrid dojangs, primarily serving elementary school students, with environments similar to general Taekwondo dojangs. However, they offer structured class divisions, including specialized programs in Poomsae, sparring, and demonstrations, while emphasizing character development and systematic curricula. These dojangs prioritize physical education in line with traditional Taekwondo instruction, excluding recreational activities. KTA instructors consider their philosophy crucial in dojang management and rely on credible institutions for program development. This study contributes academically by analyzing an underexplored area and offers practical insights for dojang operators and educators. However, due to the limited sample, findings should be generalized with caution
