권명화류 살풀이춤의 2세대 전승을 통해 본 생애사 속 춤의 의미

본 연구는 대구시 무형유산으로 지정되어 있는 권명화류 살풀이춤에 대해 1세대와 2세대의 생애사 속에서 춤이 어떻게 의미화되는지와 세대 전승 시 주목해야 하는 예술적 가치가 무엇인지를 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 대구시 무형유산 살풀이춤 명예보유자 권명화를 1세대로, 전승교육사 조은희를 2세대 대표로 선정하여 Ⅱ장에서 먼저 각 세대의 생애를 개괄적으로 살펴보고 Ⅲ장에서는 ‘꼿꼿한 허리와 굴신, 그리고 손목꺾기’, ‘고(苦)의 형상화’, ‘권명화의 구음’ 세 가지 논의 측면에서 각 세대의 생애사 속 춤의 의미를 해석하고 비교하였다. 끝으로 두 세대의 생애사 속 춤의 의미를 바탕으로 후대 전승자들에게 시사하는 점을 제시함으로써 본고를 마무리했다. 이를 통해 춤의 의미가 생애사에 영향을 받아 조금씩 달라진 것을 알 수 있었고, 세대 전승 시 놓치지 말아야 할 부분을 회귀하여 차세대에게 시사점으로 ‘살풀이춤의 창의적 수용과 접목’, ‘고에 대한 해석과 표현’, ‘장단 이해를 기반한 즉흥성 발휘’를 제시할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 두 세대의 생애사 속 춤의 의미를 조명해 봄으로써 미래의 권명화류 살풀이춤의 전승 방향을 제시할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine how the Kwon Myung-hwa style Salpuri dance is meaningful in the life histories of a generation, and to find the common artistic values across generational transmission. For this, this study overviews the life history of Kwon Myung-hwa(first generation) and Cho Eun-hee(second generation) and compares the meanings of dance within their life narratives through three positions: ‘upright posture with bending movements and wrist twists’, ‘figuration of go(suffering)’, and ‘Kwon Myung-hwa’s articulation of vocal music’. Lastly, the study presents implications for future successors, based on the meanings of dance in the above two generations. In conclusion, the meaning of dance changed depending on the life experiences of each generation. The key elements for future generation were found to be ‘creative acceptance and integration’, ‘interpretation and expression of go(suffering)’, and ‘improvisation’. Therefore, this study suggests a potential direction for the future transmission of the Kwon Myung-hwa style Salpuri dance.
