본 연구는 실용무용 전공자를 대상으로 재즈댄스에 대한 인식과 수업 효과에 대한 평가를 통해 재즈댄스 교육의 방향성과 개선 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 서울 소재 K대학교 실용무용 전공생 268명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0을 활용해 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 독립표본 t-검정, 상관분석, 다변량 분산분석(MANOVA)을 통해 분석되었다. 연구 결과, 실용무용 전공자들은 재즈댄스에 대해 높은 관심과 긍정적 태도를 보였으며, 수업의 필요성과 호감, 흥미 수준 또한 매우 높게 나타났다. 특히 재즈댄스가 동작 개발, 창작 역량 향상, 유연성 증진 등 다양한 측면에서 교육적 가치가 크다고 인식되었다. 또한 예술적·문화적 가치 수준이 높은 집단일수록 창의성, 창작능력, 표현력 등 재즈댄스 수업 효과가 통계적으로 유의하게 더 높게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 재즈댄스가 실용무용 전공자들의 예술적 감수성과 창작역량을 강화하는 데 효과적인 교육 수단임을 시사하며, 향후 실용무용 교육과정에서 재즈댄스를 창의 중심 교육 콘텐츠로 적극 반영할 필요성을 제기한다. 본 연구는 실용무용 전공자를 위한 재즈댄스 교육의 이론적 토대를 제공하고, 교육적 실천 전략 마련에 기여하고자 한다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the direction and strategies for improvement in jazz dance education by examining the perceptions of jazz dance and the effectiveness of jazz dance classes among students majoring in practical dance. A survey was conducted among 268 students majoring in practical dance at K University in Seoul. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS 22.0 through frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent samples t-test, correlation analysis, and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The results indicate that students majoring in practical dance showed high interest and positive attitudes toward jazz dance. They also exhibited a high level of agreement on the necessity, appeal, and enjoyment of jazz dance classes. Particularly, jazz dance was perceived as highly valuable in terms of movement development, creativity enhancement, and flexibility improvement. Furthermore, groups with a high level of artistic and cultural appreciation demonstrated significantly higher levels of perceived educational effects of jazz dance, such as creativity, creative ability, and expressiveness. These findings suggest that jazz dance is an effective educational tool for enhancing artistic sensitivity and creative capacity among practical dance majors. Therefore, it is necessary to actively incorporate jazz dance as creativity-centered educational content in future practical dance curricula. This study provides a theoretical foundation for the production of jazz dance education tailored to practical dance majors and contributes to the development of practical educational strategies.
