「V+サス」와「V+カク」의 의미고찰

日本語の動詞の中、「言いサス」「読みサス」などの「V+サス」型の動詞はすでに中古時代の「伊势物语」をはじめ、「源氏物语」など多くの文学の作品の中でその用例が見られる。しかし、中世以降からは用例が減少し、現代に至ってはほとんど使われていない。アンケート調査の結果、「V+サス」型の動詞と同じ意味で「V+カケル」型の動詞を現代の日本人は多く使っているのがわかった。なぜ「V+カケル」型の動詞が「V+サス」型の動詞の意味用法を代わりにすることができたのか。「V+サス」型の動詞が多く使われていた中古の時代も「V+カク」型の動詞が同じ意味で使われていたのだろうか。それとも後の時代になって新しい意味が生じ、「V+サス」の意味用法の代わりにされたのだろうか。どうして「V+サス」の用法は衰退して行き、「V+カク」の用法は増加することになったのかなどの疑問が生じる。以上の疑問を解決するために「V+サス」型動詞と「V+カク」型動詞を通時的に調べた。「V+サス」は、中古の時代から多くの作品の中で “開始"、“中途”、“中断”の意味を持って、広く使われていた。しかし、中世以降から減り始め、近世·近代·現代に至っては、ほとんど使われなくなった。これは「V+サス」型動詞に意味用法の変化が生じたからだと考えられる。それで「V+カク」型動詞が「V+サス」型動詞の用法に使われる原因になったと思う。いつから「V+カク」型の動詞が「V+サス」型動詞のように使われてきたかを調べた結果、中古·中世は「V+カカル」型動詞が “開始"、“中途”の意味で「V+サス」型動詞のように使われていたことがわかった。しかし、近世以降からは「V+カカル」型動詞より「V+カク」型動詞が多く使われるようになった。つまり、‘始動’の「V+カク」型動詞の用法は、中世以降から新しくできて近世·近代には多く使われるようになったと思う。そして現代は、「V+サス」型動詞の用法である<途中でやめる>の"中断"の意味にまで拡張されたと思う。
Abstract
Among the verbs in Japanese language,「V+Sasu」-type verbs have the meanings like 'something has been suspended at the state of beginning, or something has just begun', of which the examples are found out in many literary works produced in the mid-ancient times, including Genzimonogatari. Such verbs seem not to be use in modern ages after the examples of usage has been reduced since late Middle Ages. According to the survey research, in which「V+Sasu」-type verbs were changed into「V+Kakeru」-type in the cases. It seems that the reduction of use has been caused by the changes in meanings and usage of「V+Sasu」-type verb. And it is assumed that the usage of「V+Sasu」-type verb has been replace some vocabularies, so that in this paper the「V+Kakaru」and「V+Kaku」-type have been assumed to the new vocabularies. Meanwhile, it is also assumed that the「V+Kaku」-type verbs gained the meaning of ‘始動’ after the Middle Ages and replaced the meanings of “開始” and “中途” of「V+Kakaru」-type verb in the premodern times. And in a cautious manner, it is also assumed that the meaning of「V+Sasu」-type verb, that was not shared with「V+Kakaru」-type verbs, began to be used to express the meaning of “中断” of <途中でやめる> in modern times.
