錢鍾書와 西學 간의 상관성 小考― 西學 인식과 英國文藝批評과의 상호성을 중심으로

Abstract

This paper was performed to study of the study on the relation between Qian Zhongshu and western learning, and focused on Qian Zhongshu’s view on western learning and mutuality of the English literary criticism. According to this point, this paper is consisted of foreword, two body chapters, conclusion and the references. Chapter one gave an introduction to this paper and reviewed the former research. On the basis of previous studies, in chapter two, tried to discuss about the Qian’s experience in college and studying abroad in the West. I think it afforded him the chance to gain new academic experiences. In short, western learning as a academic resource and system, it made him possible to criticize literature and the expansion of the academic research. In other words, western learning became a link between the Chinese learning and world literature. Chapter three, tried to analyze about the topic between Qian’s literary criticism and western learning, and focused on the relationship between his literary criticism and English literary criticism. When Qian studies in Western countries, it is not too much to say that it directly affected him. Qian discussed about a lot of poetics theme in his books. During the analysis, he proceeded with British critic's studies by reference, it means a close relationship with the English literary criticism. Qian used in the theory of western learning and its methodology, tried to solve the fundamental problem of Chinese literature (or literary theory) and Western literature (or literary theory). It means that Qian’s view on western learning is provided new insight into his literary criticism and academic research.
