錢鍾書의 비평적 글쓰기와 『管錐編』 연구를 위한 小考

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to study Qian Zhongshu錢鍾書 as both literary critic and academic. The research presented here therefore takes the above as the starting point of its discussion. In other words, the purpose of the study is to examine the academic research of Qian Zhongshu and its implications for the study of Limited　views: Essays　On　Ideas　and　Letters管錐編. As everyone knows, Qian Zhongshu’s academic research and literary criticism is throughout his whole life, as a means to express his writing tendencies, such as “non-mainstream” and “non-systematic”. Qian Zhongshu through his writing, tries to clarify the problem of previous literary criticism. Thus, as has been argued in this paper, it is not as the object of Chinese literary criticism, but as a theoretical basis for the criticism, to break through to the other side, Qian Zhongshu who tries to find new and efficient ways to do that work. Qian Zhongshu is based on his academic background and critical thinking, tries to merge the ancient and modern, the Chinese and Western canons, also tries to seek the poetic subject of the poem. In this regard, Qian’s Limited　views: Essays　On　Ideas　and　Letters,which is a masterpiece of critical and scholarly writing. If we can do the research into Limited　views: Essays　On　Ideas　and　Letters, I think it will conduct a comprehensive study of Qian Zhongshu,including his personal style and writings.
