Abstract
As in all areas, physical, technical, and biological characteristics vary widely over time in elite sports. There was little longitudinal evidence on how young players change in the development process. The current status of research on the selection of sports gifted identification shows the limitations of knowledge about overall sports talent, and the predictive validity is evaluated to be low due to the inconsistent application of definitions and the resulting incorrect rsearch methodology selection. Talent is an internally dynamic characteristic, which means the ability to solve problems that find more and more skilled movements, but it is also said that there is no substance. Until now, sports gifted research requires objective and open decision rules in a single perspective, one-time to longitudinal, performance-centered transition, and intuitive evaluation. Above all, it is urgent to establish a systematic research environment for flexible policy establishment while accommodating rapidly changing knowledge.
