이 글의 목적은 벤클러의 공유경제 모델(공유재 기반 동료생산)을 중심으로 비영리형 공유경제가 불평등을 완화하는 데 기여할 수 있는가를 확인하는 데 있다. 비영리형 공유경제는 공유를 통해 빈부격차를 완화할 수 있는 가능성을 제공한다는점에서, 대안적인 복지모델로 볼 수도 있다. 그러나 그는 공유경제가 주로 IT 영역에서 나타난다는 점을 인정하면서도 IT 영역 외부로까지 이 모델의 확대가능다고주장한다. 또한 그는 공유경제와 상업경제의 양립가능성을 모색하면서도 공유경제의 확대 필요성을 언급한다. 그는 공유경제의 물질적 조건인 네트워크 외부효과 측면에서, IT 영역의 내부와 외부 사이에 상당한 차이가 존재함을 인정하고 공유경제와 상업경제의 양립가능성을 모색한다. 그러면서도 그는 IT영역 외부로 공유경제를 더욱 확장할 필요가 있다고 주장하는데, 그 방법이나 전략에 대해서는침묵한다.
Abstract
This article is to identify whether the nonprofit-seeking sharing economy can contribute to mitigating the inequality, centered on the Benker’s commonsbased peer production (CBPP). A nonprofit-seeking sharing economy (eg free or open source software, FOSS) offer the possibility of mitigating the inequality by sharing, and can be seen as an alternative model to welfare. However, He acknowledges that CBPP models are dominant within the IT field but argues that this model can be extended beyond the IT. He also refers to the necessity of expanding the sharing economy while seeking the compatibility between the sharing economy and the commercial economy. While he points out that there are considerable differences between the inside and outside of the IT in terms of network externalities which are the material conditions of the CBPP. and seeks the compatibility between the sharing economy and the commercial economy. He argue that we need to expand the CBPP. But He is silent about that strategy or strategy.
