Abstract

This research’s subjects of this research was 15 children with Asperger’ disorder and 15 typically developing children from the first grade to twelfth grade. 10 pictures used for this research. Coded materials were drawn by 13 sub-category and 3 category. The results of interpreting them with qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis are as follows. The first, in the description of picture situation, children with Asperger’ disorder and typically developing children showed differences in the description characteristics' frequency. And, description for expression and mood, description for landscape and background, description by comparison and description by inference were lower-frequent description in children with Asperger’s disorder than typically developing children. For the description focusing on excessive using of direct speech, number, order and color, children with Asperger’s disorder showed higher frequency than typically developing children. The second, children with Asperger’s disorder showed differences qualitatively for not only frequency but also contents in not only lower frequency of description and higher frequency of description than typically developing children. Also, description characteristics which were shown only children with stress expression behavior, not typically developing children, was one same object description with several titles, using of ego-centered pronoun, determined description, individual sentences without relation, abstraction of description for form outline, the first sentence which cannot represent the whole situation, using of particular words which are not suitable for sentences and context.
