Lee Yuksa(李陸史) translated Xu Zhimo(徐志摩)’s “Worship(拜獻)” and “Saying Good-bye to Cambridge Again(再別康橋)” into Korean in 1941. We should recreate a new poetic language and ‘rhyme and tone’ in translations that emphasize the poetic concept and can reproduce the poetic echo of the original poem. This is for the purpose of achieving the poetic completeness of the translation. Lee Yuksa was more conscious of the fact that the translation of poetry can not be made equal. He does not stay in the translations of word for word but attempts to re-create new poetic language and ‘rhyme and tone’ in the translation language system. Based on the poetic concept, Lee Yuksa’s translations of Xu Zhimo’s poetry is an example of a poetry translation that pursues poetic completeness through the process of re-creation.
