박사학위논문 ‘선행연구 검토’의 이동마디별 저자 입장 분석

본 연구에서는 학문 목적 학습자의 논문 작성을 위한 기초 교육 내용을 마련하기 위해, 8편의 한국어교육학 박사학위논문 ‘선행연구 검토’ 부분을 분석하여, ‘선행연구 검토’ 부분의 이동마디에 따른 저자 입장의 양상을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 한국어교육학 박사학위논문의 ‘선행연구 검토’ 부분에서 드러나는 저자 입장은 텍스트의 구조, 즉 이동마디의 구조와 긴밀한 관련을 맺고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 저자가 이동마디1‘연구 영역 확립하기’에서는 선행연구에 대한 ‘보고자’ 역할을 수행하고, 보다 객관적이고 유보한 저자 입장을 선호한 것이었다. 그 반면에 이동마디2 ‘연구 정당성 정립하기’에서는 선행연구에 대한 ‘논평자’의 역할로 변화하면서 보다 적극적으로 저자 입장을 드러내는 경향이 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 한국어교육학 박사학위논문의 ‘선행연구 검토’ 부분에서 선행연구를 해석하여 자신의 의견을 제시할 때는 단언의 정도가 더 낮은 유보적인 입장을 선호하였고, 선행연구를 비판하거나 부족한 점을 제시할 때는 더욱 완곡한 입장을 드러내고자 하였다. 마지막 이동마디3 ‘연구 영역 알리기’에서는 저자가 현 연구에 대한 ‘안내자’의 역할을 수행하는데, 비인칭 대명사 등을 통해 보다 학술 담화의 객관성을 유지하려고 하였다. 본 연구에서 한국어교육학 박사학위논문 ‘선행연구 검토’ 부분의 의사소통 목적을 밝히고, 이에 따른 ‘선행연구 검토’ 부분의 이동마디 구조, 그리고 이동마디 구조에 따른 저자 입장의 양상을 살필 수 있었다. 향후 다양한 연구가 펼쳐진다면 학술 담화의 특징을 밝힘과 더불어 학문 목적 학습자를 위한 기초 교육 내용으로도 의의가 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the Literature Review sections of eight doctoral dissertations on Korean language education. The analysis focuses on the rhetorical moves and the manifestation of an authorial stance within these sections. The findings revealed a strong correlation between the structural organization of rhetorical moves and the author's stance. In the first rhetorical move, “Establishing a Territory” the author adopts the role of a reporter, conveying previous studies in an objective and reserved manner. The second move, “Establishing a Niche” sees the author shift to a commentator's role, actively articulating their stance. The final move, “Presenting the Present Work” involves guiding the reader through the current research by employing impersonal pronouns to maintain an objective tone. This exploration not only clarifies the communicative purposes and structures of rhetorical moves in the Literature Reviews of Korean language education doctoral dissertations but also illustrates how these structures influence the authorial stance. The insights gained can significantly enhance the pedagogical approaches to academic writing courses for learners of Korean.
