본 연구의 목적은 (한)국어교육 분야 학술대회 토론문의 텍스트 구조와 완화 표현을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국어교육과 국어교육 분야의 학회들에서 발행된 토론문 50편을 수집하였다. 그리고 장르 분석의 이동마디 개념을 바탕으로 토론문의 텍스트 구조를 파악하고 학술 텍스트인 토론문에서 어떤 완화 표현들이 사용되었는지 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 토론문은 약 3개의 이동마디로 구성되어 있었으며 가장 대표적인 이동마디 구조는 ‘연구의 의의–질의–감사나 기대’였다. 다음으로 토론문에는 다양한 완화 표현이 사용되었다. 특히 토론문의 질의 단계에서는 의문문의 형태로 직접적으로 질문하거나 문제를 제기하는 표현보다 궁금하다거나 설명을 듣고 싶다는 방식의 간접적인 표현이 더 많이 사용되었다. 그리고 토론자 자신의 부족함을 언급하며 겸손함을 나타내는 표현도 관찰되었다. 이상의 결과는 학술대회 토론문이 하나의 장르로서 고유한 텍스트 구조가 있으며 학술 텍스트로서 다양한 완화 표현이 사용됨을 보여 준다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the text structure and hedges in discussion papers in the field of Korean language education. For the analysis, fifty discussion papers published for conferences in the field of Korean language education were collected. This study analyzed the text structure based on the genre analysis and investigated which hedging expressions were used. The main findings are as follows: First, the discussion papers consisted of several moves. The most common text structure was “significance of the proceeding–questioning–appreciation or expectation”. Second, a variety of hedges were used in the discussion papers. For raising questions, indirect speech acts were used as well as hedges, while direct interrogative sentences were used less frequently. Humbling expressions that state the discussant’s inadequacy were also used. These findings indicate that the discussion paper has a distinct structure and various hedges as an academic text genre.
