고려인 집거지의 에스닉 틈새 시장 전략 연구 : 충청남도 아산시 신창면 고려인 및 내국인 자영업자를 중심으로

이 연구는 충남 아산시 신창면 고려인 집거지의 고려인 및 내국인 자영업자의 에스닉틈새 시장 전략 실태를 파악하기 위한 추적연구이다. 고려인 및 내국인 자영업자의 에스닉틈새 시장 전략이 지역사회 인구 유입 및 경제 활성화에 미치는 영향을 분석하여, 고려인의지역사회 정주를 위한 맞춤형 교육프로그램과 정책의 개선 방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 이 연구는 신창면 고려인 자영업자 12명과 내국인 자영업자 4명을 대상으로 심층인터뷰하였다. 고려인은 주로 24시간 식료품점, 통역 및 서류 대행 사무실, 기술교육원 및 뷰티업종을 운영하고 있었다. 한편 고려인과 전혀 교류하지 않는 내국인 자영업자도 있었지만, 몇몇 내국인 자영업자는 고려인의 유입으로 인해 시장 공백을 인식하고 일종의 차별화전략을 펼치고 있었다. 그들은 미용, 청과, 의류 상점을 운영함으로써, 경제적 재도약을꾀하고 있었다. 이 연구를 통해 에스닉 경제의 활성화는 결과적으로 타지역에 거주하는고려인 자영업자와 점원, 고객을 해당 지역사회로 유입하였고, 이는 생산과 소비를 자극함으로써 지역사회를 발전시키고 있음을 확인하였다. 반면 편법을 일삼는 고려인 자영업자의증가로 인한 고려인 간 갈등이 심화되고 있었다. 이 연구는 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로지역사회 맞춤형 개선 방안을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study investigates the ethnic niche market strategies of Koryoin and native Korean self-employed business owners in the enclave of Sinchang-myeon, Asan City, Chungcheongnam-do and examines their effects on local population inflow and economic revitalization. In-depth interviews were conducted with 12 Koryoin and 4 native Korean small business owners. The Koryoin operated diverse businesses, including grocery stores, translation and document-processing offices, technical training centers, beauty businesses. Some native Koreans had little interaction with the Koryoin, whereas others perceived new market gaps and sought to implement differentiation strategies. These Koreans pursued their economic revitalization by operating beauty salons, fruit and vegetable stores, and clothing shops. The activation of the ethnic economy attracted Koryoin business owners, workers, and customers from other regions, stimulating local production and consumption. However, conflicts within the Koryoin intensified due to the spread of irregular business practices. Based on these findings, the study suggests community‑tailored policies for Koryoin.
