교도소 수형자 유형별 PAI-CS 프로파일 비교연구

본 연구는 외국의 교정 장면에서 교정직원 및 심리학자들이 범죄자 관리 및 치료에 활용할 수 있도록 표준화된 PAI-CS를 사용하여, 국내 698명의 수형자들이 PAI-CS 척도 점수에 따라 어떻게 구분되는지 알아보기 위해 군집분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 4개의 군집이 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 군집1은 PIM, WRM 척도가 60T이상으로 유의미하게 상승하였고, 군집2는 유의미하게 상승된 척도가 나타나지 않았다. 군집3은 ANT, ALC, AGG, VARI 척도가 60T 이상으로 유의미하게 상승하였고, 군집4는 SOM, DEP, PAR, BOR, DRG, SUI, STR, NON 척도가 60T 이상으로 유의미하게 상승한 프로파일을 나타내었다. 따라서 군집1은 ‘긍정적 인상을 주려는 집단’, 군집2는 ‘평균 양상의 집단’, 군집3은 ‘외현화 특성의 집단’, 군집4는 ‘내현화 특성의 집단’으로 명명했다. 그리고 군집유형에 따라 PAI-CS 척도 프로파일 양상 차이를 알아보기 위해 일원배치 분산분석을 실시하였고, 각 군집별 수형자들의 범죄 유형 비율 차이를 알아보기 위해 카이제곱 검정을 실시하였다. 본 연구는 PAI-CS 척도 점수에 따라 군집을 분석함으로써 교정 시설 내 수형자들의 심리, 정서적 특성에 대한 개별적인 이해를 돕는 정보를 제공한다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 이를 통해 교정 시설에서 각 수형자에게 적합한 심리치료 프로그램을 실시하는 데 있어 PAI-CS 프로파일 결과가 효과적으로 활용될 방안에 대해서 논의하였다.
Abstract
Using standardized PAI-CS for prison staff and psychologists to be used in criminal management and treatment in foreign correctional settings, this study conducted a cluster analysis to find out how 698 inmates in Korea were distinguished according to PAI-CS scale scores. The results showed that four clusters were appropriate. Cluster1 has significantly increased the PIM and WRM scales above 60T, and Cluster2 has not significantly increased measures. Cluster3 showed a significant increase in the ANT, ALC, AGG, and VARI scales above 60T, and Cluster4 represented a profile whose SOM, DEP, PAR, BOR, DRG, SUI, STR, and NON scales significantly increased to more than 60T. Therefore, Cluster 1 was named 'Group to give a positive impression', Cluster 2 was named 'Group of Average Form', Cluster 3 was 'Group of Externalized Features' and Cluster 4 was 'Group of Internalized Features'. In addition, a One-way ANOVA analysis was performed to identify differences in PAI-CS scale profile patterns depending on cluster type, and a chi-square test was conducted to identify differences in crime type rates among inmates in each cluster. This study is meaningful in that it provides information to assist the individual understanding of psychological and emotional characteristics of the inmates in the correctional settings by analyzing clusters according to PAI-CS scale scores. In doing so, the results of the PAI-CS profile were discussed for effective use in conducting psychological treatment programs suitable for each prisoner in the correctional setthings.
