구문의 통사론 ‘통구문론(統構文論)’:구문의 통합- ‘만도’의 사례를 중심으로 -

본고의 목적은 구문 문법적 관점에서의 통사론, 즉 통구문론(統構文論)을 위한 제반 사항들을 마련하는 것이다. 기존의 통사론이 어떤 통사 단위들이 어떻게 결합하여 전체 문장을 이루는지를 규명하는 이론이라고 한다면, 통구문론은 구문 문법의 문법 단위인 개별 구문들이 어떤 형식과 의미를 가지고 있고 그 구문들이 어떻게 통합하여 우리가 실제 사용하는 문장이 만들어지는지 그 원리와 제약을 탐구하는 이론이라고 할 수 있다. 본고에서는 실제 발화인 구문체를 만들어 내는 두 가지 현상인, 도식적 구문의 빈자리를 다른 구문으로 채워 넣는 사례화와 여러 구문들이 서로 중첩‧혼합해서 나타나는 현상을 아울러 구문의 통합 현상이라 부르고 실제로 이러한 현상이 어떻게 이루어지는지를 ‘커녕’ 구문이 실현된 구문체의 구문 격자로써 보이고자 하였다. 더불어 두 개의 보조사 구문이 통합해 있는 ‘만도’의 사례를 통해 문장을 조직하는 원리는 결합이 아닌 통합임을 입증하였다. 보조사가 두 개 이상 연쇄해서 나타나는 양상을 자세히 살펴보면 단순히 보조사들이 결합해 있는 것으로는 설명하기 어려운 다채로운 모습을 관찰할 수 있다. 그중에서도 ‘만도’의 사례는 둘 중의 하나 혹은 둘 모두의 해석이 전형적이지 않아서 통합형으로서 새로운 의미를 산출하는 경우가 많다.
Abstract
This paper aims to lay the groundwork for a syntax based on construcion grammar, namely a constructional syntax. If the existing syntax is the theory of how syntactic units combine to form whole sentences, the constructional syntax is the theory that explores the form and meaning of individual constructions and how they are integrated to create the sentences we actually use. In this paper, two phenomena that produce a construct, a phenomena which the slot of the schematic construction is filled with different constructions and a phenomena which various constructions overlap and blend with each other, are called the integration of construction, and how this actually occurs is to be seen as a construction grid of a construct in which the khe-nyeng construction is realized. In addition, through the case of manto, which two focus particle constructions are integrated, it was proved that the principle of organizing sentences is integration, not combination. If we take a closer look at the way of the chained form of two or more focus particles, we can observe a variety of appearances that are difficult to explain simply by the combination of the focus particles. Among them, the cases of manto often yield a new meaning as an integrated form because the interpretation of one or both is not typical.
