본고는 구문 문법적 관점에서 한국어의 구문을 구문화와 구문 변화 개념으로 설명할 때 얻을 수 있는 장점이 무엇인지 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본고에서는 [XP 할 것 없이] 구문을 중심으로 한국어에서 구문화와 구문 변화 개념으로 설명할 때 보다 설명력을 얻을 수 있음을 확인하고자 한다. 최근 학계에서 구문 문법 연구가 활발히 이루어지면서 한국어의 다양한 구문 현상들에 대한 연구가 이어지고 있는데, 본고에서는 Traugott and Trousdale(2013)에서 제시된 구문화와 구문 변화의 개념을 통해 그간 통시적 변화나 문법화의 일환으로 연구되던 대상들도 구문 문법의 연구 대상에 포함될 수 있고, 구문의 성립과 기능의 변화를 한국어의 역사적 변천 과정에 기반해서 설명할 수 있으며, 구문의 문법적 특징을 보다 체계적이고 정밀하게 파악할 수 있다고 본다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the advantages that can be obtained when the phenomenon defined as construction in Korean is explained with the concepts of Constructionalization and Constructional change from the viewpoint of Construction Grammar. This paper tries to confirm that explanatory adequacy can be obtained when explaining the concepts of Constructionalization and Constructional change(Traugott and Trousdale 2013) in Korean, focusing on [XP 할 것 없이] construction, rather than explaining only grammaticalization. Recently, as Construction Grammar research has been actively carried out in the Korean linguistics academy, research on various constructions of the Korean continues. In this paper, through the concept of Constructionalization and Constructional change claimed by Traugott and Trousdale(2013), we will confirm that grammatical phenomena that have been studied from the viewpoint of grammaticalization can also be included in the subject of Construction Grammar research. Moving away from the point of view of limiting the application of Construction Grammar only to synchronic phenomena, The concept of Constructionalization and Constructional change helps to explain the establishment and change of construction in the course of historical change in Korean. Furthermore, using this perspective, the grammatical constraints of construction can be systematically explained.
