미디어 교육을 활용한 체육수업이 초등학생의 장애인스포츠 인식과 장애인 수용태도에 미치는 효과

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of sport activies throungh multimedia learning on the disability sport perception and receptive attitudes of elementary school students. The particpants of this study were students from two elementary schools in Jeollanam-do Province of South Korea. One experimental group was made of eighty students from four different classes of school A to have multimedia-based learning and practice of disabled sports. One control group was made of eighty students from four different classes of school B to have standard physical education. The pre-test was conducted on each group using eighty copies of a questionnaire regaring the disability sport perception and receptive attitudes. After the pre-test, two Paralympic sports events that are most favorite elementary students, soccer and volleyball, were selected for the experiment. For six weeks, the experimental group learned about Paralympic soccer and volleyball while the control group learned about standard soccer and volleyball. Afterwards, the post-test was conducted on each group to see any changes in the disability sport perception and receptive attitudes. The results of this study are as follows. First, the pre-test found no significant difference of the perception toward disabled sports between the two groups, but during the six weeks of multimedia-based learning and practice of disabled sports the experimental group showed a higher average value in their perception than the control group. On the post-test, the experimental group showed an improved perception but the control group did not. Second, the pre-test found no significant difference of the attitudes toward disabled people between the two groups, but during the six weeks of multimedia-based learning and practice of disabled sports the experimental group showed a higher average value in their attitudes than the control group. On the post-test, the experimental group showed more receptive attitudes but the control group did not. In conclusion, these results indicate that multimedia-based learning and practice in physical education have positive effects on elementary school students' perception and attitudes toward disabled people and sports.
