Abstract
This research into travel errors of children with low vision focuses on factors of low vision travel efficiency and low vision travel errors. The conclusion of this research is outlined as follows. First, the research into the efficiency of low-vision travel focuses on the influence of the limited vision on efficiency of travel, and factors of travel efficiency. First, with regard to the influence of the limited vision on efficiency of travel, innate low vision or low vision formed during infancy causes the sufferer to have a low-level activity and concept development, limiting his ability of comprehensively understanding diverse factors related to travel and lowering the efficiency of travel. Likewise, with low vision children and adults, affected adversely are various travel-related factors such as visibility, sense of contrast, and vision, leading to a lengthened travel time, a difficulty of using landmarks, and travel errors, and thus lowering the efficiency of travel. Next, with regard to the research into factors influencing the efficiency of travel, the relationship between the vision function and travel efficiency with low-vision people is considered complicated, but there is a great correlation between visibility, sense of spatial contrast, and travel, and also the remaining vision is deemed to have somewhat effects on efficiency of travel. Second, low-vision-caused travel errors include error-caused collision, error of depth perception, error of travel at a crossroads and crossing streets, lighting and reflection-caused error, and error of adaptation due to narrow vision
