초록

This study aims to examine the structure of COVID-19 notice texts of universities from a disaster linguicism perspective and critically examine language use patterns according to their structure. Specifically, this study targeted the texts at the notices on websites at more than 20 universities in Seoul. This study first embodied the properties of the disaster-related guide texts, taking into account the complex nature of disasters with continuity and a series of stages. In addition, the structures of the texts were derived inductively, and the use of language according to the structure was critically reviewed. In particular, in the work of critically reviewing linguistic uses, this study intended to increase the reliability of the results by supplementing and utilizing the criteria for judging literacy of the National Institute of Korean Language (2019). This study is meaningful in that it reviewed the use of disaster language in consideration of the complex nature of the disaster. It is also meaningful in that it critically reviewed the texts of the guidelines at universities from the perspective of disaster linguicism and suggested necessary improvements to promote the right use of language in the public domain.
