Urological cancers such as kidney, bladder, prostate, and testicularcancers are the most common types of cancers worldwidewith high mortality and morbidity. To date, traditional cell linesand animal models have been broadly used to study pre-clinicalapplications and underlying molecular mechanisms of urologicalcancers. However, they cannot reflect biological phenotypesof real tissues and clinical diversities of urological cancersin vitro system. In vitro models cannot be utilized to reflect thetumor microenvironment or heterogeneity. Cancer organoids inthree-dimensional culture have emerged as a promising platformfor simulating tumor microenvironment and revealingheterogeneity. In this review, we summarize recent advancesin prostate and kidney cancer organoids regarding culture conditions, advantages, and applications of these cancer organoids.
