『표준 한국어』 교재에 나타난 요청 화행의 공손 전략 분석 -중·고등학생 교재를 중심으로-

본 연구는 ‘공손(politeness)’을 중심으로 한국어 교육에서 공손 표현이 어떻게 제시되어 교육되고 있는지를 확인하기 위해 교재를 분석하였다. 요청 화행은 화자와 청자에게 모두 부담이 되는 담화 상황이므로 한국어 학습자들이 성공적으로 요청 화행을 수행하기 위해서는 적절한 공손 전략의 사용이 필수적이다. 본 연구의 대상은 『중고등학생을 위한 표준 한국어』이다. 교재에서 발췌한 377개의 요청 화행을 전략적 측면과 상황 변인으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 명시적 전략이 50%로 가장 높게 나타났고 소극적 전략과 적극적 전략은 각각 24%와 22%로 비슷한 비율로 나타났다. 암시적 전략은 4%로 다른 전략들에 비해 상대적으로 매우 낮게 나타났다. 상황 변인에 따른 분석 결과 비격식적이고 친밀한 관계에서 화자와 청자의 힘이 동등한 경우의 담화 상황이 가장 많이 제시되었다. 효과적인 요청의 공손 표현 교육을 위해서는 화자와 청자의 힘이 동등하고 친밀한 관계에서 요청의 부담 정도에 따라 적절한 공손 전략을 사용할 수 있도록 해야 하며 격식적인 상황, 소원한 관계에서 화자와 청자의 힘이 동등하지 않을 때의 공손 전략에 대한 교육이 필요하다. 마지막으로 한국어 학습자들이 암시적인 전략이 사용된 요청 화행의 의미를 파악할 수 있도록 교육해야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze how to express politeness in Korean language education. The request speech act is a discourse situation that burdens both the speaker and the listener. Therefore, proper Korean politeness strategy is essential for Korean learners to successfully execute their request speech act. The subject of this study is 『Standard Korean』 textbook for middle and high School KSL learners. This study contained the situation variable analysis, the politeness strategy and the politeness expression of 377 request speech acts by textbook. As a result of analysis, ‘direct strategy' was the highest with 50%. ‘negative strategy' and ‘positive strategy' showed similar proportions with 24% and 22%. ‘implied strategy' is 4%, which is relatively lower than other strategies. As a result of the analysis of situational variables, the discourse situation of the same case of speaker and listener power in the informal and intimate relationship was presented the most.
