존슨의 상상적 구조로 분석한 연극교육의 경험 양상

본 연구는 존슨의 상상적 구조로 연극교육의 경험 구조를 분석하여 몸을 통한 인지 방식을 활용한 연극교육을 통해 창의성이 발현될 수 있음을 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 존슨의 상상적 구조의 두 가지 핵심유형을 살펴보았다. 이미지 도식은 몸을 통한 반복적 경험으로 생성되는 패턴이다. 이미지 도식은 보편적으로공유되는 일반성이 특성이기에 경험에 대한 이해의 기초가 된다. 이미지 도식을 기초로 인지가 확장되는 방식이 바로 은유적 투사이다. 은유적 투사는 이미지 도식의 신체적 경험 수준을 정신적 경험으로 확장 시키는 것으로 인간의 보편적 인지 방식이다. 이 과정에서 상상력은 이미지 도식을 통한 경험의 이해를 돕거나 추상적인사고를 매개하여 인지 확장을 돕는 역할을 한다. 이러한 몸의 인지 방식은 경험의 연속성을 통해 하등 인지에서 고등 인지로 향상된다. 이를 바탕으로 연극교육의 ‘즉흥극 만들기’ 과정의 경험 구조를 분석하였다. 각 단계는 주어진 문제를 해결하기 위해 저장된 경험을 활용하여 상상을 재구성하는 이야기 창조, 상상을 바탕으로 저장된 경험을 확장하여역할을 창조, 관객이 되어 몸의 경험을 새롭게 의미화하는 과정으로 정리할 수 있다. 이러한 경험 구조의 공통된 특징은 몸에 저장된 경험을 바탕으로 경험을 은유적으로 이해하고, 상상의 재구성으로 창조한 인지의 확장을 다시 몸에 축적하는 것이다. 이는 경험의 연속성에 기반 한 몸의 인지 방식의 순환적 구조임과 동시에 하등인지에서 고등 인지로 확장되는 인지 구조임을 확인할 수 있다. 이러한 순환적 구조를 통한 저장된 경험의 새로운 재구성은 창의성으로 귀결된다. 따라서 연극교육은 인간의 본질적인 인지 방식을 활용한 창의성 발현이가능한 경험 구조를 지닌다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 몸의 본질적 가치에 대한 보다 깊은 이해로 연극교육의 몸을 통한 경험의 가치와 그에 따른 다양한 방법론이 연구되길 기대하는 바이다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the experience structure of theater education with Johnson's imaginative structure to reveal that creativity can be expressed in theater education using the cognitive method through the body. To this end, we first examined two key types of Johnson's imaginative structure. The image schema is a pattern created through repetitive experiences through the body. The image schema is the basis for understanding an experience because it is a universally shared generality. The way in which cognition is expanded based on the image schema is metaphorical projection. Metaphorical projection extends the level of a physical experience of image schema to a mental experience and is a universal cognitive method of humans. In this process, imagination plays a role in helping to understand experiences through image schemas or expanding cognition by mediating abstract thinking. This way of cognition through the body improves from lower cognition to higher cognition in the continuity of experience. Based on this, the experience structure of the process of ‘making improvisation’ in theater educa- tion was analyzed in this study. The stage of ‘making improvisation’ is the process of creating a story through reconstructing imagination using stored experiences to solve a given problem, creating a character who understands by expanding stored experiences based on imagination, and newly seman- ticizing the experience of the body as a spectator. The common feature of this structure of experi- ence is to metaphorically understand the experience based on the experience stored in the body, and to accumulate the expansion of cognition created by reconstructing the imagination back into the body. It can be confirmed that this is a cyclical structure of the body's cognitive method through the continuity of experience and a cognitive structure that extends from lower cognition to higher cognition. New reconstruction of stored experience through this cyclical structure results in creativity. Therefore, it can be interpreted that theater education has an experience structure capable of ex- pressing creativity using the essential human cognitive method. Through this study, it is expected that the value of experience through the body in theater education and various methodologies will be studied based on a deeper understanding of the intrinsic value of the body
