본 연구는 서울 소재 4년제 K대학 유학생 전용 교양필수 교과목의 강의교재인 『한국어 기초 글쓰기와 표현』의 구성과 특징을 분석하고, 학습자의 만족도를 검토하였다. 강의교재를 구성하면서 염두에 둔 것은 학습자 중심의 글쓰기 학습과 과정 중심의 글쓰기 교육이다. 이에 교재를 개발하면서 첫째, 학습자 중심의 글쓰기 학습을 목표로 이론적인 설명은 최소화하고 집필자가 수업 현장에서 느꼈던 외국인 학습자의 문제점 위주로 워크북을 겸할 수 있도록 교재를 구성하였다. 둘째, 과정 중심의 글쓰기 교육이 이루어지도록 글쓰기의 기초를 먼저 학습한 후, 단계별로 보고서를 실제로 작성하면서 작성 방법을 익힐 수 있도록 교재를 구성하였다. 셋째, K대학 교양필수 강의교재로서의 특성을 잘 담고자 하였다.
Abstract
This study examines the structure and pedagogical features of Basic Korean Writing and Expression, a textbook developed for a mandatory liberal arts course designed exclusively for international students at K University, a four-year institution located in Seoul. It also examines learners’ satisfaction with its effectiveness. The development of the textbook was guided by two core instructional principles: learner-centered writing instruction and process-oriented writing pedagogy. Accordingly, theoretical explanations were kept to a minimum, and the content was structured to function as both a textbook and a workbook, focusing on writing challenges commonly encountered by international students in actual classroom settings. Furthermore, the textbook enables learners to build foundational writing skills and gradually apply them through step-by-step report writing tasks. It also reflects the specific objectives and educational philosophy of K University’s general education curriculum.
