Abstract
From the late 5th century to the beginning of the 6th century, the Southern Dynasty General title was extremely important in Baekje. Similarly, in the late 5th century in Wa, Southern Dynasty General title was also emphasized. This is recognized as a common feature of Baekje and Wa in that period. Baekje and Wa were extremely concerned with a world in which the emperor of the Southern Dynasty was at the top. The title of the Southern Dynasty general was used as a hierarchical code for his subjects. In Baekje, a unique ruling system was established, with its own kings, princes, and governors, corresponding to the title of the Southern Dynasty general. In contrast, no such traces were found in Wa.This indicates the unique development of Baekje, which utilized the title of the Southern Dynasty general. In Baekje, a unique system of official ranks was established from the hierarchy based on the title of the Southern Dynasty general. In contrast, no such pecking order was formed in Wa. Here, the differences between Baekje and Wa in the same period are recognized.
