놀이다움 평정척도(Test of Playfulness: ToP)의 타당도와 놀이다움 특성 연구 -다문화가정 아동을 중심으로-

본 연구의 목적은 첫째 다문화가정 아동에게 놀이다움 평정척도를 적용하여 문항반응 적합도를 조사하고, 둘째, 다문화가정 아동의 놀이다움 요소별 특성 즉, 동기근원, 통제지각, 현실감 부재, 참조체계 특성을 밝히고자 하였다. 본 연구에 참여한 아동은 총 48명으로 일반아동 24명(남 13명, 여 11명)과 다문화가정 아동 24명(남 13명, 여 11명)이다. 본 연구에 적용한 도구는 Bundy(2003)가 제작한 놀이다움 평정척도 4.0을 진흥신(2003)이 우리나라 일반아동과 장애아동을 대상으로 예비표준화한 한국판 놀이다움 평정척도이다. 놀이관찰은 자유놀이 상황 15분을 비디오 촬영하였으며, 자료처리는 놀이다움 평정척도에서 얻어진 원점수를 Rasch 분석하였다. 본 연구결과 및 결론을 살펴보면 첫째, 다문화가정 아동에게 적용한 놀이다움 평정척도의 문항반응 적합도는 96.6%였다. 이에 본 척도를 다문화가정 아동에게 적용하기에 타당하다고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 다문화가정 아동의 놀이다움 즉, 놀이의 질적 특성은 일반아동과 유사하였다. 그러나 놀이다움 평정척도에 반응한 아동들의 난이도 순위에서 일반아동이 대부분 상위순위에 있고, 다문화가정 아동 대부분이 하위 순위에 있었다. 다문화가정 아동의 놀이다움 요소 중 동기근원은 내적 동기 성향을 보였고, 통제지각 수준은 외적 통제지각과 내적 통제지각의 연속선에서 중간에 위치하여 약한 내적 통제지각 수준을 보였다. 또한 현실감부재 특성은 자유스럽지 못하였으며, 참조체계 특성은 자유롭게 사회적 단서를 주고받았다. 이에 다문화가정 아동이 놀이다움 평정척도에 반응한 문항반응 타당도는 놀이다움 평정척도 표준화를 위한 기초 자료로 활용 될 수 있으며, 다문화가정 아동의 놀이다움 특성은 놀이 프로그램 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate (1) validity of Test of Playfulness(ToP) of children from multicultural families, and (2) characteristics and levels of four elements of those children's playfulness. The four elements are intrinsic motivation, internal motivation, suspension of reality, and framing. The subjects were total of 48 consisting of 24 with multicultural background and 24 without multicultural background. In order to collect data, the children's free play behavior were video recorded and analyzed by Korean Version of ToP(K-ToP). Validity was examined using the Winsteps Rasch analysis. The research results were as followings: First, validity of K-ToP for children of multicultural families was .966, so that K-ToP was proved to be applicable to those children. Second, multicultural children's characteristics of playfulness was very similar to those of children without multicultural background. However, those without multicultural background showed higher scores which means they did well on more difficult tasks. Third, multicultural families' children had higher intrinsic motivation, lower internal motivation, low creativity, and free social cue exchange. This research suggests that proved validity data of K-ToP will contribute to development of standardization of K-ToP which includes children of multicultural families. and development of play program for those with multicultural background.
