한국어 문법 ‘-지 뭐’ 구성의 의미 기능 연구

이 글은 한국어 문법 ‘-지 뭐’ 구성에서 나타나는 의미 기능을 살펴본 것이다. 이때 국어사전에서의 종결 어미 ‘-지’와 감탄사 ‘뭐’의 의미 기능을 참고하였다. 그리고 21세기 세종계획의 원시 말뭉치 자료(문어, 구어)를 어절 검색하여 빈도수가 높은 것을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 먼저 ‘-지 뭐’에서 보이는 주어 제약, 시제 제약, 높임 표현 제약 등의 문법적 제약을 검토했다. 그리고 ‘-지 뭐’가 나타내는 의미 기능을, 문어 말뭉치와 구어 말뭉치에 따라 구분하여 구체적인 예로 살펴보았다. 그 결과 ‘감정의 간접적 표현’, ‘당연함, 예측 가능함, 마땅함, 확신, 문제없음, 만족, 인정, 위로, 격려, 달관, 대수롭지 않음, 믿음, 상대방의 탓이 아님, 이해하려 노력함’, ‘겸연쩍음, 심드렁함, 푸념, 체념, 어쩔 수 없음, 안타까움, 중요하지 않음, 특별하지 않음, 기대하지 않음, 부적절함’, ‘일반화, 일반적․보편적 상황’ 등과 같은 다양한 의미 기능을 보였다.
Abstract
Kim Mun-Gi(Dong-A Univ.)ㆍKim Hyoung-bok(Inje Univ.) This study focuses on the semantic functions that appear in the ‘-ji mwo’ type of the two types of Korean grammar; ‘-ji mwo’ type and ‘-ji mwo’ expansion type. At this time, we refer to the sentence ending ‘-ji’ and the semantic function of the exclamation ‘mwo’ in the Korean dictionary. In addition, we searched the raw corpus data(written and spoken language) of the 21st Century Sejong Plan. First, we examined grammatical constraints such as subject constraint, tense constraint, and honorific expression constraint, which are shown in ‘-ji mwo’. Second, the semantic function represented by ‘-ji mwo’ is divided into an written corpus and a spoken corpus. As a result, it showed a variety of semantic functions such as ‘indirect expression of emotion’, ‘naturalness, predictability, obligation, conviction, having no problem, satisfaction, acknowledgement, consolation, encouragement, a far-sighted view, being trivial, credence, not being your fault, trying to understand’, ‘feeling embarrassed, being apathetic, complaint, resignation, pardonableness, painfulness, having no importance, being undistinguished, holding out no hope, inappropriateness’, and ‘generalization, general and universal situation’ Based on the results of this study, we discussed the need to find ways to utilize Korean grammar education.
