The present study proposes several challenges and subjects to Japanese linguistics for learners of Japanese, through analyzing the tanka Salad Anniversary (Sarada Kinenbi) by Machi Tawara. Students have some problems with finding the research question by themselves in traditional introductory course of Japanese linguistic. The author proposes how to educate and practice Japanese linguistic analyzing some pieces of tanka ‘Salad Anniversary’; it is considered that not only describing the subjects of Japanese linguistics but also the interpretation of tanka as literary works.
Abstract
