The aim of this article is to analyse social dialogue for pension reform in Japan and to suggest implications for successful social dialogue in Korea. Before analysing the process of the social dialogue in Japan, the definition of social dialogue is examined. Then, social dialogue for pension reform(1985, 2012) in Japan is analysed. After that, I evaluate the social dialogue in Japan and suggest the implication for successful social dialogue in Korea. In order to carry out social dialogue successfully, we need that the information about pension reform should be open early and trustworthy. Also we let the Pension Commission be independent and responsible more. Furthermore, it is important for diverse stake-holders to take part in social dialogue too. And government should gather the public opinions actively and explain and persuade the thoughts to the public sincerely
Abstract
