이 논문은 후설과 하이데거의 현상학적 시간 분석을 이해하고 비교하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 두 철학자에게 시간론은 이들의 철학 자체의 수행을 근거 짓고 있는 본질 구조이다. 이 논문은 먼저 2장에서 후설과 하이데거 시간론의 구도에 대해서 비교한다. 후설이 시간 객체를 구성하는 의식 내재의 시간 분석을 목표로 한다면, 하이데거는 존재 일반의 의미를 해명하기 위한 토대인 기초존재론에 있어서 현존재의 실존론적 존재구성틀을 시간성으로 밝히는데 주력한다. 3장에서는 이러한 구도 아래에서 이들이 분석해내는 시간성의 모습을 구체적으로 소묘한다. 후설에게 시간성은 지향성의 구조인 반면 하이데거에게 시간성은 현존재의 ‘현(Da)’이라는 존재에로의 개시성의 구조이다. 4장에서는 이러한 시간성을 지니는 인간의 모습, 달리 말해 시간적 존재자로서 인간의 모습이 이들에게 궁극적으로 어떻게 제시되는 지를 살펴본다. 후설에게 시간적 존재자인 인간은 절대적 주관성(absolute Subjektivität)에 다름없다. 반면 하이데거에게 인간은 역사적 현존재로서 자신의 현사실적 삶을 감당해내는 ‘해석학적 존재(ens hermeneuticum)’로 밝혀진다. ‘절대적 주관성’과 ‘해석학적 존재’로서 인간은 그리스적 전통에서 인간의 시간 체험을 이해하는 두 가지 방식인 크로노스(Chronos)와 카이로스(Kairos)에 각각 대응한다. 이 글의 결론부에서는 두 철학자의 시간론이 궁극적으로 지향하는 바에 초점을 맞춰 후설의 시간론을 ‘크로노스적 현재’로, 하이데거의 시간론을 ‘카이로스적 순간’으로 규명한다.
Abstract
This paper aims to examine and compare Husserl’s and Heidegger’s phenomenological analyses of time. This paper first compares the structural aspects of Husserl’s and Heidegger’s temporal theories in Chapter 2. While Husserl aims at the temporal analysis of the consciousness immanence that constitutes temporal objection, Heidegger focuses on clarifying the existential framework of the existence of temporality in basic ontology, which is the foundation for clarifying the general meaning of being. In Chapter 3, under such a composition, the figures of temporality they analyze are detailed. For Husserl, temporality is a structure of intentionality, whereas for Heidegger, temporality is a structure of openness to the existence of the There-being. Chapter 4 examines how humans with such temporality, in other words, humans as temporal beings, are ultimately presented by them. For Husserl, human beings are no less than absolute subjectivity. In contrast, to Heidegger, human beings are revealed as “ens hermeneuticums” who are able to endure their real life as a historical being. In the concluding section of this article, Husserl’s temporal theory is presented as a “Chronous present” and Heidegger’s temporal theory as a “Kairos moment,” and the ultimate goal of both temporal theories is emphasized.
