자발적 결사체 가입이 정치참여에 미치는 영향: 정치효능감과 시민권 덕목의 매개효과 분석

초록

본 연구는 자발적 결사체 가입과 정치참여의 관계에서 정치적 효능감과 시민권 덕목이 어떠한 인과적 영향을 미치고 매개역할을 하는지를 실증적으로 규명하기 위하여 한국, 독일, 스웨덴 등의 세 국가를 선정하여 일련의 연구가설을 제시하고 이를 검증하였다. 첫째, 정치효능은 한국과 독일, 스웨덴 등의 세 국가 모두에서 정치참여에 유의미한 정의 인과관계로 나타난 반면에, 한국을 제외한 독일과 스웨덴 두 국가에서는 시민권 덕목에 유의미한 정의 인과관계로 작동한데 비해 한국에서는 유의미하지 않게 나타났다. 둘째, 자발적 결사체 가입이 시민권 덕목에 미치는 인과관계는 한국에선 모든 결사체 가입에서 유의미하지 않는 인과관계로 작동하고, 독일 사회에서는 기타 단체 가입이 유의미한 인과적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면에, 스웨덴 사회에서는 정당단체와 기타 단체 변인이 유의미한 인과적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 요약하면 한국은 사회·정치참여 활동에 있어서 정치적 효능감이나 시민권 덕목과 같은 시민의식이 독일과 스웨덴에 비해서 중요한 기능과 역할을 담당하고 있지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 한국에서는 개인의 자발적 결사체 가입이나 정치적 참여 활동이 사회적으로 긍정적인 역할과 기능을 담당하기 위해서는 합의적 시민의식과 공륜을 배양하기 위한 시민교육의 중요성이 강조된다고 볼 수 있다.

Abstract

This Study explores the causal relationships among voluntary association entry, political efficacy, citizenship, Political Participation in Korea. Germany, Sweden. To do this, A set of hypotheses concerning the relationship among voluntary association entry, political efficacy, citizenship are set forth and subjected to an empirical assesment by using data set collected from ISSP(International Social Survey Planning)2004 Modules. The analysis results were the following: First, The effects of political efficacy on political participation were significant to the three nations. Meanwhile, the effects of political efficacy on citizenship and political participation were not significant to German and Sweden. Second the effects of political party and labor association on political efficacy were significant to Korea. the effects of political party and cultural association on political efficacy were significant to germany. the effects of political association, labor association, and cultural association, other association on political efficacy were significant to Sweden. Third, the effects of political association, labor association, and cultural association, other association on citizenship were not significant to Korea. the effects of other association on citizenship was not significant to German. the effects of political party and other association on citizenship were significant to Sweden. Forth, the effects of political party, labor association, and cultural association, other association on political participation were not significant to Korea and German. the effects of political association, labor association, and other association on political participation were not significant to Sweden. Lastly, A difference of mediation effect for political efficacy and citizenship was not important in shaping political participation to Korea oppose to German and Sweden.
