본 연구의 주요 목적은 브라질 포르투갈어의 사회언어학적 변이형 사용에 대하여 알아보고 이러한 변이형의 교육적 의미에 대하여 논의하는 것이다. 이 를 위해 브라질과 포르투갈 양국 간에 나타나는 포르투갈어의 사용 특징과 브 라질지역내의사용차이를관찰해보았다. 또한주로교육수준이낮은계층 에 의하여 나타나는 변이형을 중심으로 사회계층별 변이에 대하여 살펴보았 는데, 이러한 변이형들은 교육수준이 높은 계층에서도 관찰되고 있다. 성별 변 이와 관련하여, 남성들은 비표준 변이형을, 여성들은 표준 변이형을 더 많이 사용하고 있다는 연구 결과가 많은데, 이는 다른 변이 요소들과의 관계도 함 께따져봐야한다. 격식형태와비격식형태의말이상황에따라다르게나타 나고있는데, 화자간의관계및상황에따른문맥이변이형의사용과관련있 음을 확인하였다. 동일한 언어권, 동일한 국가, 동일한 지역에서도 사회언어학 적으로 다양한 변이형이 공존하며, 각기 다른 가치를 지닐 수 있다. 교육수준 이나 지역별 차이와 관계없이 나타나는 변이형도 있고, 낮은 교육수준의 화자 들에게만 관찰되는 변이형도 있으며, 지역별로 다른 특성을 보이는 변이형도 있다. 의사소통을 중시하는 외국어 교수법의 방향을 생각하면 사회언어학적 변이형에 대한 교수와 학습은 매우 중요하다. 발음, 형태, 구문, 어휘, 담화적 인 측면 등 모든 언어적 영역에서 나타나는 다양한 변이형의 사용특징에 대하 여 교수자와 학습자 모두 관심을 가지고 교육현장에서 활용한다면 더욱 효과 적인 교육이 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the use of sociolinguistic variants in Brazilian Portuguese and to discuss the educational implications of these variants. For this purpose, the characteristics of use of Portuguese between Brazil and Portugal and differences in use within the Brazilian region were observed. Also, I looked at variations by social class, focusing on variations that appear mainly among the non-educated, and found that these variations are actually widely spoken by educated people as well. With regard to gender variation, many studies have shown that men use non-standard variants more and women use standard variants more. However, other factors of variation, including age differences, should be considered as well. Formal and informal forms of speech appear differently depending on the situation, and it was confirmed that the relationship between speakers and the context according to the situation are related to the use of a variant. Even in the same linguistic region in the same country, various sociolinguistic variants coexist and may have different values. There are variants that appear regardless of educational level or regional differences, some variants that are observed only in low-education speakers, and some variants that show different characteristics by region. Considering the direction of foreign language teaching that emphasizes communication, teaching and learning about sociolinguistic variants is very important. It is expected that more effective education will be achieved if both teachers and learners are interested in the use characteristics of various variants appearing in all linguistic domains such as phonetics, morphology, syntax, vocabulary, and discourse.
