Abstract
The term‘Organic' not only is a common feature of German Idealism whose representatives are Schelling and Hegel, but is also commonplace between the history of religious school and the Dutch Ethical theologians. Since this terminology has been used among the academic areas, such as philosophy, the school of religion, and theology, it is not surprising that several lines of scholarship have identified them as the son of German Idealism. However, more recent scholars argued that Bavinck's and Kuyper's organic thoughts are influenced not by German Idealism but by their own Reformed predecessors, such as Calvin and the Reformed orthodox theologians. The present essay examines Kuyper's and Bavinck's organic worldview, comparing each other, and demonstrates that their organic worldview is not similar to Hegelian Idealism as such. Rather, the more typical approach to the language of 'organic' was advocacy of the scriptural revelation, providing the Christian worldview which is able to explain the whole system of the human life.
