본 연구는 외국인 근로자의 해외 현지적응을 촉진하는 주요 요인으로서 문화지능과 자기효능감의 역할을 확인하고, 이를 강화할 수 있는 사전교육의 중요성을 탐색하였다. 연구결과, 문화지능이 높은 외국인 근로자는 우리나라 현지 적응에 대한 자신감이 높았으며, 사전교육의 유용성도 긍정적으로 평가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 자기효능감이 높을수록 우리나라 현지 적응에 대한 자신감이 높았으며, 사전교육의 효과를 더욱 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 나아가, 현지 적응에 필요한 사전교육을 유용하다고 지각할수록 우리나라 현지 적응에 대한 자신감도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 문화지능과 자기효능감이 사전교육을 매개로 하여 해외 현지적응 자신감에 미치는 영향을 규명하였으며, 나아가 해외 현지적응 자신감을 통해 문화적응의 가능성을 탐색함으로써 문화적응 개념을 이주 이전 단계까지 확장했다는 의의를 가진다.
Abstract
This study explores the roles of cultural intelligence and self-efficacy as key factors that facilitate the overseas adaptation offoreign workers, and investigates the importance of pre-departure training in enhancing these factors. The results show that foreignworkers with higher cultural intelligence displayed greater confidence in adapting to life in Korea and evaluated the usefulness ofthe pre-departure training more positively. Likewise, workers with higher self-efficacy also exhibited greater confidence in adaptingto the local environment in Korea and perceived the training as more effective. Furthermore, the more the workers perceived thepre-departure training as useful for local adaptation, the higher their confidence in adapting to life in Korea. This study identifies theinfluence of cultural intelligence and self-efficacy on overseas adaptation confidence through the mediating effect of pre-departuretraining. Moreover, by exploring the potential for cultural adaptation through confidence in overseas adaptation, this research extendsthe concept of cultural adaptation to the pre-migration stage.
