성인지적 관점에서 본 지하철 이용 환경 중요도-만족도 분석

Abstract

To solve traffic problems such as traffic congestion and air pollution, there is a need to construct public transit-oriented transportation systems which are regarded as environment friendly transportation systems rather than automobile-oriented systems. Prior research has attempted to identify factors to enhance the convenience of public transit to make more environment-friendly transportation systems, but most of the research is mainly focused on the satisfaction of overall users of public transit. This study is motivated by the assumption that there exist differences in the satisfaction between male and female, and examines this assumption from a Gender-Sensitive Perspective. First of all, we selected the evaluation items and indexes for satisfaction by reviewing literature, and tried to carry out an Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) to find out the differences between males and females. In the overall evaluation from the Gender-Sensitive Perspective, both males and females selected ‘safety’ as the highest item of importance and they selected the ‘operation of the subway’ as the highest satisfaction item. Female users are higher than male users in the average of importance, but both of them were not significantly different in the average of satisfaction. Most precisely, the difference between males and females is clearly shown excluding the ‘condition of subway’. Most females wanted to use the subway in a pleasant environment. Also, ‘noise and vibration’, ‘ventilation in subway and station’, ‘convenience of movement’, ‘access of restroom’, ‘maintenance of restroom’, ‘convenience of movement for transfers’, and ‘safety enhancement from crimes’ need to be improved on the subway. Thus, when installing and improving the transportation system hereafter, we need to consider females who are relatively transportation vulnerable from the gender-sensitive perspective.
