本論文は、紀貫之の『土佐日記』に現れている「女性仮託」に着目し、その文学的虚構性と叙述的意味を考察するものである。『土佐日記』は、男性官人である紀貫之が女性の作者を装うという独特な形式をとっている。この女性仮託は単なる文体上の装置ではなく、作者の社会的立場や感情表現の方法に即した選択として理解できる。本稿では、このような仮託の構造がいかなる叙述の効果を醸し出すか、また、その虚構性がどのような文学的効果を発揮しているのかを分析する。それによって、『土佐日記』が単なる個人の内面を映し出すにとどまらず、発話主体の構成や表現形式の問題を内包する複合的テクストであることを明らかにする。
Abstract
This paper focuses on the use of “female personification” (josei kataku) in Tosa Nikki by Ki no Tsurayuki, examining its literary fictitiousness and narrative significance. Tosa Nikki adopts a distinctive form in which the male court official Ki no Tsurayuki assumes the voice of a female narrator. This female personification is not merely a stylistic device, but can be understood as a deliberate choice reflecting the author's social position and methods of emotional expression. This study analyzes how such a narrative construction produces specific effects and how its fictive nature contributes to the literary function of the text. Through this approach, the paper demonstrates that Tosa Nikki is not simply a record of personal sentiments, but a complex text that engages with the issues of narrative subjectivity and modes of expression.
