소득수준과 삶의 만족도와의 관계 분석 : 이항로짓분석의 활용

본 연구는 우리나라 국민 2,700명을 대상으로 한 삶의 만족도 조사 설문지를 바탕으로 하여 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 개인적 배경요인들을 도출하고, 특히 소득수준과 삶의 만족도 관계에 관한 심층적인 분석을 하는 것을 연구목적으로 한다. 이를 통하여 우리나라 국민들의 삶의 만족에 영향을 미치는 개인적 배경요인들이 무엇인지? 특히 소득수준 변수가 삶의 만족 수준에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 지? 일정한 소득수준이 넘어서는 경우 삶의 만족수준 증가율이 감소되는 지? 그렇다면 그 수준은 어느 정도인지? 또 더 나아가서 소득수준이 삶의 만족에 영향을 미치는 확률은 어느 정도인 지 등을 심층적으로 분석해 보고자 하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과, 8개의 개인적 배경 요인 중에서 살고 있는 지역규모, 학력, 소득수준, 연령, 일자리 형태 등 5개의 변수는 삶의 만족에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 소득수준의 경우 월 800만원 이상이 되면 삶의 만족 수준 증가율이 이전 단계보다 감소되는 것으로 나타났다. 개인적 조건이 동일하다고 가정하고 소득수준이 삶의 만족에 미치는 확률을 구해 볼 수 있으며, 이러한 확률 수준에 관한 정보는 향후 중앙정부나 지방정부 차원에서 구체적인 정책 수립 시 유용한 정보가 될 수 있을 것이라고 생각된다.
Abstract
This paper, utilizing the 2,700 respondents, aims to identify the main factors affecting life satisfaction of Korean people and to discuss the relationships between income level and life satisfaction in a more detailed manner. Through this analysis, it is expected that some important questions, such as what are the main determinants associated with life satisfaction of Korean people? whether the income level could affect statistically and significantly life satisfaction or not, and whether the threshold to divide the income levels in terms of life satisfaction exists or not, could be answered. It is found that among eight independent variables used in this analysis, five independent variables have affected significantly the dependent variable, life satisfaction. They are income level, age, size of the region they live in, education and type of job. It is also found that as income increases, level of life satisfaction also increases. In addition, the research analysis results show that the eight million Korean won in the category of income level may be a threshold to divide significantly life satisfaction.
