한국과 미국에서의 장애유아 자기결정 관련 연구 동향 비교

본 연구는 2000년부터 2019년 6월까지 한국과 미국에서 발표된 연구 중 장애유아의 자기결정 관련 연구를 분석 및 고찰한 것으로, 장애유아의 자기결정에 대한 다양한 접근과 관점을 이해하고 관련 연구의 관심을 촉구하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 논문 선정 기준에 부합하여 최종적으로 선별된 한국과 미국의 연구물 각각 11편씩을 중심으로 발표연도, 연구방법, 연구주제, 연구대상 분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 양국 모두 장애유아의 자기결정에 대한 연구는 많은 편은 아니었으나 연구경향에서 또렷한 차이를 보였다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 장애유아의 자기결정에 대한 국내 특수교육 연구자들의 더 많은 관심이 요구되며, 연구 주제 또한 장애유아의 자기결정 중요성에 대한 인식뿐만 아닌 자기결정 증진을 위한 교수전략, 교수환경 개발 등 다양하면서도 실질적인 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the research done on the self-determination of young children with disabilities. In order to understand various approaches and perspectives, 11 studies from both Korea and the United States between 2000 to June 2019 were selected according to the year of publication, research method, topic, and subject. Consequently, not much research on the self-determination of young children with disabilities were found in either country, but there were distinct differences in the research tendencies. Based on the findings, in order for the self-determination of children with disabilities to develop, more interest from the Korean Special Education researchers is needed. Research topics should be conducted in more diverse and practical ways, and teaching strategies and environments need to be established in order to enhance the self-determination and awareness of the importance of self-determination in young children with disabilities.
