소아암 환아 어머니의 심리적 적응에 대한 내러티브 연구

본 연구의 목적은 소아암 환아 어머니가 느끼는 어려움과 이를 극복하고 앞으로 나아갈 수 있게 힘을 주는 기쁨의 요소들을 내러티브 연구를 통해 살펴봄으로써 소아암 환아 어머니의 삶을 깊이 있게 이해하는 데 있다. 연구자의 아이가 포함된 연구 참여자들은 모두 3명으로 11개월간의 대화와 E-mail, SNS 등 전화면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 소아암 환아 어머니는 아이를 돌보거나 병원에서 생활하면서 많은 어려움과 기쁨을 함께 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 소아암 환아 어머니가 경험하는 어려움 중에는 현실을 받아들이는 일과 함께 아이가 중증환자로 기적을 바래야 되는 일과 장기간 치료과정으로 인해 발생하는 경제적 어려움 까지 함께 있었다. 특히 아파하는 아이를 지켜보며 장기간 진행되는 치료과정이 소아암 환아를 둔 어머니로서 어려움으로 작용하는 반면, 오히려 이를 극복하면 기쁨의 요소로 전환된다는 사실도 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 모든 소아암 환아 어머니들의 삶을 이해하고 자녀를 돌보는 데 도움을 주고 소아암을 맡고 있는 교사에게는 어머니와 협력적으로 일하는 데 필요한 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 더 나아가 소아암 가정을 위한심리사회적 어려움을 살펴보는 지원과 정책 결정에 시사점과 유용한 정보를 제공하는 데 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to deeply understand the life of mothers with childhood cancer by examining the difficulties experienced by mothers of childhood cancer and the elements of joy that give them strength to overcome them and move forward through narrative research. All three study participants, including the researcher's child, collected data through conversations for 11 months and telephone interviews such as E-mail and SNS. As a result of the study, it was found that the mother of a child with cancer faces many difficulties and joys while caring for her child or living in a hospital. Among the difficulties experienced by mothers of children with cancer were accepting the reality, wishing for a miracle for the child to become a critically ill patient, and financial difficulties arising from the long-term treatment process. In particular, it was found that the long-term treatment process while watching a sick child acted as a difficulty as a mother of a child with childhood cancer, but on the contrary, overcoming it turned into an element of joy. The results of this study will help to understand the lives of all mothers with childhood cancer and help them take care of their children, and provide the information necessary for teachers in charge of childhood cancer to work cooperatively with mothers. Furthermore, for families with childhood cancer.The significance of this paper is that it provides implications and useful information for support and policy making to examine psychosocial difficulties.
