본 연구는 부모교육을 통한 감각통합 가정프로그램이 자폐스펙트럼장애아동의 감각조절과 사회적응능력에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 실시하였다. 총 14명의 경도 자폐스펙트럼장애 아동을 대상으로 감각통합치료와 부모교육을 통한 감각통합 가정프로그램을 중재한 실험군 7명과 감각통합치료만을 중재한 대기자 통제군 7명으로 나누어 총 8주간 실시하였다. 중재 전⋅후 감각조절을 비교하기 위해 감각 프로파일, 사회적응능력을 비교하기 위해 사회성숙도검사를 사용하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 중재 전⋅후 실험군과 대기자 통제군의 감각조절능력을 비교해본 결과 두 집단 모두 감각프로파일 요소별로 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 또한 중재 후 실험군과 대기자 통제군의 감각조절을 비교한 결과, 감각프로파일 중 낮은 지구력, 불량한 감각과 감각 민감도 요소에서 실험군이 대기자 통제군에 비하여 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 중재 전⋅후 실험군과 대기자 통제군의 사회적응 능력을 비교한 결과 두 집단 모두 사회연령(SA)에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으며. 사회지수(SQ)의 경우 실험군에서만 유의한 차이를 보였다. 또한 중재 후 실험군과 대기자 통제군의 사회연령(SA)을 비교한 결과로 실험군이 대기자 통제군에 비하여 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 이를 통하여 부모교육을 통한 감각통합 가정프로그램이 자폐스펙트럼장애아동의 감각조절과 사회적응능력 향상에 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었으며, 추후 이와 관련된 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to explore the impact of parental education concerning sensory integration home-program on the sensory control and social adaptation capacity of children with autism spectrum disorder. A total of 14 children with mild autism spectrum disorder, seven objects with experimental group receive sensory integration treatments and parental education on sensory integration home-program, seven objects with control group receive only sensory integration treatments for eight weeks. To assess the sensory control and social adaptation ability we utilized the Sensory Profile and Social Maturity Scales. The results are as follows. First, both the experimental and control group presented significant statistical difference before and after intervention on Sensory Profile’s all factors. Furthermore, after the intervention, comparisons between two groups showed statistically significant differences in low endurance, poor registration, and sensory sensitivity. Second, the groups presented significant statistical differences before and after intervention on Social Age. And after intervention comparisons between the experimental and the control groups showed statistically significant differences in Social Age. Through these results, it is confirmed that the parental education on sensory integration home-program is effective for sensory control and social adaptation capacities of children with autism spectrum disorder. Further study in this regard is necessary for future works.
