본 연구의 목적은 적응행동검사와 감각프로파일(Sensory Profile)을 사용하여 자폐범주성아동의 적응행동과 감각처리능력의 상관관계를 알아보기 위함이다. 연구 대상은 자폐범주성장애로 진단 받은 3~12세 아동 70명이고, 연구도구는 적응행동검사와 감각프로파일을 사용하였다. 평가는 연구자가 직접 기관을 방문하여 담당 치료사와 아동의 부모에게 연구의 목적과 평가지 작성 방법을 설명한 후 작성하도록 하였고, 연구에 동의한 자폐범주성아동의 부모에게 실시하였다. 적응행동검사의 5개 요인과 감각프로파일의 상관관계를 알아본 결과, 적응행동검사의 5개 요인 중 개인요구충족, 지역사회 요구충족, 개인 및 사회적 책임의 3개 요인은 감각프로파일과 양의 상관관계를 보였고, 점수가 높을수록 부적응 행동 양상이 증가하는 사회적 적응, 개인적 적응 요인은 감각프로파일과 음의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 본 연구 결과, 자폐범주성아동의 적응행동과 감각처리능력은 유의미한 상관관계가 있었고, 감각처리능력이 우수할수록 적응행동 수준이 높으며, 감각처리에 어려움을 겪을수록 부적응 행동과 연관성이 높음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 하여 부적응 행동에 대한 원인으로 감각처리요인을 제시함으로써 자폐범주성아동의 적응행동 향상을 위한 보다 효율적인 치료적 중재를 가능하게 할 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
Using an Adaptive Behavior Scale and Sensory Profile, this study aims at looking into the correlation between adaptive behavior and the sensory section and sensory factor of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The study features 70 children between 3 to 12 years of age who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The evaluation was carried out by material collection under an agreement of parents whose children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The results of an inspection of the correlation between the Adaptive Behavior Scale and Sensory Profile show that as the scores of three factors of adaptive behavior, personal self-sufficiency, community self-sufficiency, and personal/social responsibility, the three factors show that they have a positive correlation with the sensory section and sensory factor of the Sensory Profile. Also, social adjustment and personal adjustment show that the two factors have a negative correlation with the sensory section and sensory factor of the Sensory Profile. The results of this research show that there is a meaningful correlation between the adaptive behavior skills and the sensory section and sensory factor of the Sensory Profile of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Based on the results, since this research suggests sensory processing factors as being the cause of non-adaptive behavior, it is expected that effective occupational therapy intervention for improved adaptive behavior will be possible.
