자폐 범주성 장애 아동의 Ayres 감각통합과 감각-기반 중재효과: 체계적 고찰 연구

초록

본 연구는 체계적 고찰을 통해 자폐 범주성 장애 아동을 대상으로 Ayres 감각통합®과 감각-기반 중재의 효과를 알아보았다. 전자데이터베이스 CINAHL, MEDLINE, Proquest, PubMed를 통해 2008년 1월부터 2016년 9월 사이에 발표된 논문을 검색하였으며 주요 검색어는 ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder’ and ‘(sensory approach or sensory integration or sensory-based intervention)’을 사용하였다. 총 19개의 논문이 검색되었다. Ayres 감각통합®중재를 적용한 연구는 4개(21.1%)였고 감각-기반 중재를 적용한 연구는 총 15개(78.9%)로 다감각접근법 1회(5.3%), 무게감 있는 조끼 중재와 기공마사지가 각각 5회(26.2%)와 2회(10.5%), 그 외 음향 청각접근법 4회(21.1%), 환경수정 1회(5.3%), 공의자 및 쿠션 중재가 각각 1회(5.3%)씩 사용되었다. Ayres 감각통합®중재를 적용한 연구에서는 3개(75%)가 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 감각-기반 중재를 사용한 연구에서는 7개(46.7%)가 유의한 차이가 있었다. 본 연구는 자폐 범주성 장애 아동에 대한 감각을 특성으로 하는 중재의 임상적 적용에 대한 근거를 제시하는데 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to look at a systematic review on the effectiveness of Ayres sensory integration® (ASI®) and sensory-based interventions (SBIs) for children with autism spectrum disorder. We systematically examined papers published in journals from January 2008 to September 2016, using CINAHL, MEDLINE, Proquest, Pubmed. For the main key words of a database search, ‘autism spectrum disorder' and '(sensory approach or sensory integration or sensory-based intervention)’ were used. Finally nineteen articles, 4 ASI® and 15 SBIs (1 multisensory approach; 7 deep pressure approach; 4 sound auditory approach; 1 environmental modification; 1 therapy ball chair; 1 cushion) were analyzed. The results showed that ASI® is generally effective for children with ASD, however SBIs showed different effects as the type of intervention. The findings have implications for intervention methods, measurement tools regarding effective practices.
