체계기능언어학 관점에서의 한국어 학습자 오류 분석 연구

한국어 교육에서 학습자 오류 분석은 학습자 언어에 대한 이해와 이를 바탕으로 한 학습자의 목표어 의사소통 능력 향상에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본고에서는 한국어 학습자의 목표어 산출이 모어 화자의 그것과 마찬가지로 의사소통 맥락에서 자신의 발화 의도를 성공적으로 표현하여 세계와 관계를 맺기 위한 수단이라는 점에 착안하여 맥락에 따른 언어 사용자의 언어적 선택을 강조하는 체계기능언어학의 관점에서 학습자 오류를 분석하였다. 체계기능언어학에서 언어의 주요 기능으로 설정한 3가지 대기능을 중심으로 학습자 오류를 분석한 결과 한국어 학습자들은 경험적 대기능에서 적절한 조사를 선택하여 과정 유형별로 요구되는 참여자와 배경 요소를 표상하는 데 혼란을 겪었으며 논리적 대기능에서는 절 복합 시 고려해야 하는 논리-의미 관계를 섬세하게 상세화하는 데 어려움을 보였다. 또한 대인적 대기능에서는 절 내 성분들의 높임법 체계를 정확하게 일치시키지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며 텍스트적 대기능에서는 보조사 ‘은/는’을 과도하게 사용하여 불필요한 주제화를 하는 양상을 보인다.
Abstract
The learner error analysis has been a useful method for understanding learners’ language and improving their communication skills in the field of Korean language education. This study analyzes learners’ errors based on systemic functional linguistics which emphasizes the linguistic choices of language users according to context, focusing on the fact that language production of KFL learners, just like that of native speakers of Korean, is a means to connect themselves with the world by successfully verbalizing their intention. By analyzing learners’ errors based on the three main meta-functions discussed in the systemic functional linguistics, the study found that KFL learners get confused when representing a participant or circumstance by selecting a proper particle in experiential meta-function, which required from each process type. They also face difficulties in delicately elaborating logico-semantic types that need to be considered for clause complex in logical meta-function. In terms of interpersonal meta-function, the learners seem to lack the skills required for harmonizing honorific markers within a clause and tend to unnecessarily to thematize certain constituents with an excessive use of the particle ‘eun/neun’.
