초록

The Haitian Revolution was born in the French Revolution and she ran to the removal of the slavery system in Saint-Domingue and her independence. Therefore she has the anticapitalist and anticolonial character. Saint-Domingue which was called “les perles des Antilles” had flourished with the denrés(tropical products)-exportation based on the plantation system. And this plantation system was cultured by the slaves who had been introduced in Saint-Domingue by the slave trade(les traites des esclaves noirs). At the late of the 18th century, the number of the slaves leached 90% of the total population of the western part of the island. When the French Revolution broke out, the free colors of Saint-Domingue demanded their political equality and when they obtained their equality, the slaves demanded their liberty and they organized the insurrection in their turn. Their mouvement for the removal of the slavery system and their liberty lasted 13 years and they owned their liberty on 29th June 1793 and it was approved by the National Convention on 4th February. They also proclaimed their independence on 1st January 1804. In the long course of the Haitian Revolution, the small peasantry with the small landhold based on ‘les places à vivres’ which had shaped in the plantation system developed auto-sufficient food-product system. And it substituted food-products for tropical products exportation. It was a result of the long antagonism and compromise between the creol character and the african character. It consists one of the haitian identities.
