DOM 현상 연구는 한 언어에 복수의 직접목적어 코딩 수단이 있다는 것을 전제로 한다. 다른 한편으로 DOM에 영향을 미치는 것은 하나가 아니라, 여러 가지 기능적 요인이 함 께 작용할 수 있고, 형태적인 측면에서도 DOM은 다양한 수단과 방법으로 이루어질 수 있다는 접근방식이 중요하다. DOM은 기본적으로 직접목적어 코딩의 비대칭 asymmetry 또는 대체 alternative와 관 련된 문제이다. 이를 유발하는 기능적 요인으로는 전통적으로 목적어 논항의 유정성 animacy, 한정성 definiteness 같은 지시적 속성이 주목을 받아왔지만, 근래에는 그 외에 도 피영향성 affectedness, 정보구조 information structure의 관점에서도 DOM을 분석하 는 경향이 있다. DOM의 수단은 무표시 zero marking, 격표시 case marking, 접사첨가 affixation, 부치사표시 adpositional marking 처럼 형태론적으로 단순한 것부터 유사-명 사포합 pseudo noun incorporation, 더 나아가 어순변경과 같은 통사적 수단에 이르기까 지 그 분포의 다양성을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 DOM 현상을 형태적 측면과 기능적 측면의 양방향으로 접근하고 있다. 전자에서는 언어학적으로 가능한 문법적 표현 수단, 즉 다양한 언어에서 나타나는 DOM 의 구조적 분포를 살펴보고, 후자에서는 DOM 현상을 유발하는 여러 가지 기능적 매개변 수를 중심으로 기술한다. 이러한 양방향의 접근방식은 해당 주제의 연구에 서로 보완적 인 기능을 한다. 본연구는 간 언어적으로 DOM에 어떠한 기능적 매개변수들이 작용하고 있는지, 그에 상응하는 형태ㆍ구조적 모습은 어떠한지 살펴보고, DOM의 유형론 및 기술 언어학적 분석에 적용할 수 있는 프레임워크를 도출하고 있다.
Abstract
Die Erforschung der DOM setzt voraus, dass eine Sprache über mehrere Methoden zur Kodierung des direkten Objekts verfügt. Andererseits soll man davon ausgehen, dass hier nicht nur ein, sondern mehrere funktionale Faktoren zusammenwirken und verschiedene sprachliche Mittel mobilisiert werden können. DOM ist im Wesentlichen eine Frage der ‘Asymmetrie’ oder ‘Alternative’ bei der Markierung des direkten Objekts in einer Sprache. Traditionell wurden referenzielle Eigenschaften wie ‘Belebtheit’ und ‘Definitheit’ des Objektarguments als funktionale Faktoren zur DOM-Analyse herangezogen. In jüngster Zeit findet man jedoch eine Tendenz, DOM aus der Perspektive der ‘Affiziertheit’ und ‘Informationsstruktur’ des Objektarguments zu beschreiben. Die unterschiedlichen Methoden der DOM reichen von morphologisch einfachen Mitteln bis hin zu syntaktischen Mitteln wie Nullmarkierung, Kasusmarkierung, Affigierung, Adpositionalmarkierung, nominale Pseudo- Inkorporation und Wortstellungsänderung. In dieser Studie wird das DOM-Phänomen sowohl unter formalen als auch unter funktionalen Aspekten behandelt. Im ersten Teil wird die strukturelle Distribution von DOM untersucht, wie sie in verschiedenen Sprachen auftritt, im zweiten Teil werden sodann verschiedene funktionale Parameter beschrieben, die das DOM-Phänomen auslösen. Beide Betrachtungsweisen ergänzen einander bei der Untersuchung des Themas. Diese Arbeit konzentriert sich sprachübergreifend darauf, welche funktionalen Parameter bei der DOM eine Rolle spielen und wie die entsprechende Form bzw. Struktur aussieht. Daraus ergibt sich ein linguistischer Rahmen, der für die Typologie und deskriptive Analyse von DOM verwendet werden kann.
