동북아 철학사 서술을 위한 提言

필자는 현재 우리가 볼 수 있는 철학사에는 적지 않는 문제점이 있다고 생각한다. 그 중 중요한 이유 중 하나는 완전히 독립된 문명권이 없음에도 불구하고 독립된 문명권의 철학사/사상사인 듯이 서술하고 있기에 그 사상도 명료성도 불완전하고 사유의 인과도 분명하게 알 수가 없다. 이런 의미에서 세계 철학사는 서술되어야 하며 그 전제 아래 동북아 철학사도 서술되어야 한다고 생각한다. 이런 의미에서 동북아 철학사 서술을 위한 제언이다. 우선 동북아 철학사의 지역적인 범위는 시기에 따라 변화를 한다. 시기에 따라 동남아의 일부 혹은 중앙아이사가 포함되기도 한다. 그리고 서술되어야 할 철학/사상의 내용에는 종래에 다루지 않았던 티베트 불교와 중국의 이슬람 사상들도 포함되어야 한다. 서술시기에는 동북아라는 문화 지역을 중심으로 국가를 약회시켜야 하고 사상의 흐름과 교류를 보다 분명하게 보여 주어야 한다. 이런 방식으로 동북아 철학사 더 나가 세계 철학사가 서술된다면 철학 지식이 아니라 고래로부터의 철학함을 어렵지 않게 볼 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The author believes that the current history of philosophy has many notable problems. One of the most important reasons that the author argues so is that despite there was no fully independent civilization, the scholars have been writing about it as the history of philosophy or ideas of an independent civilization, which leads to a lack of clarity in thoughts and unclear causal relationships in philosophical thinking. In this context, the author argues that the history of world philosophy should be written and under such premise the history of Northeast Asian philosophy should be written. This paper suggests a new approach to discoursing on the history of Northeast Asian philosophy in this perspective. First of all, the geographic range of the history of Northeast Asian philosophy changed over time. Depending on the period, it includes a part of Southeast Asia or Central Asia. Among the philosophical ideas and content to be written are included Tibet Buddhism and the Islamic thoughts in China. When writing the history of Northeast Asian philosophy, the writers should set Northeast Asia as the cultural center and put less emphasis on the individual countries in this area. Through this way, the flow and exchange of thoughts will be more clearly noticed. If this approach would be adopted in discoursing on the history of Northeast philosophy and, furthermore, the history of world philosophy, not the collection of philosophical knowledge but the active process of philosophical thinking from ancient time could be revealed.
