독일의 초등 미술 교사 양성 과정에 관한 고찰

Abstract

As one said ‘quality of education cannot exceed that of teachers’, when we talk about education, expertise of teachers is one of the most important. In other words, teachers are the main factors that influence in school education. ‘Good teachers are not born bur trained’ and expertise of teachers also can be trained through education. In this regard, role of the teachers college to develop expertise of teachers, which in turn will raise quality of education, is very important for improving the quality of school education. In order to develop a teacher education program that is closely related to actual classroom teaching, unique expertise required by a certain curriculum must be found and the program shall be organized to develop this. However, research materials about teacher education so far has remained generalization and comprehension rather than reflecting the characteristics of the curriculum. Therefore, in order to find the concept of expertise necessary for art teachers, it needs to be discussed inside the art department. For concept of expertise of teachers with particular subject, the subject’s academic character must be applied, so the effort to find the character from inside the specific curriculum and find out the expertise of the teachers. However, preceding studies on expertise required for elementary art teachers are insufficient. To develop expertise of elementary art teachers, teachers education institutions’ role is very important; and as an overseas case for developing elementary art teacher, Germany’s elementary art teacher training course is studied. In Germany, education system differs by state, and teacher training program is also different, so in this study, Hessen’s case is focused. Germany’s teacher training institutions’ education program, which is firmly established in the country, will give much insight to Korea, where public education system is in peril.
