비사범계 교직 이수생들의 반성적 성찰을 통한 학교현장실습 의미탐색

초록

본 연구는 비사범계 교직과정 이수 학생들의 교육실습 경험을 반성적 성찰을 통해 이들의 교육실습 이전의 인식, 교육실습과정에서 겪은 경험들에 대한 인식 및 교육실습 후의 인식 변화를 살펴봄으로써 교육실습이 가지는 의미를살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교직이수를 하고 있는 비사범계열 4학년 학생들이 교육실습 기간동안 작성한 성찰일지, 심층인터뷰 자료, 실습후기 자료 등을 기술적 현상학 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 비사범계 교직이수 학생들의 교육실습 전 인식은 실습에 대한 구체적인 인식보다는 교사라는직업에 대한 막연한 동경과 호의적인 태도와 함께 기대와 불안을 함께 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교육실습기간 동안의 경험은 자신의 부족한 수업진행능력에 대한 반성과 변화의 필요성, 이론과 실제의 차이, 학생들로부터오는 기쁨, 교사라는 직업에 대한 실체 파악 후 교직에 대한 인식의 변화를 가져왔다. 또한, 짧았던 실습기간의 아쉬움, 실습지도 학교의 체계적이지 못한 실습지도 등을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교육실습 후 교직이수학생들은교직 적성에 대한 문제와 진로 결정에서 고민도 깊어지는 것으로 나타났다. 동시에 대학수업에서는 배울 수 없는현장경험을 긍정적으로 인식하였고, 변화 성장한 자신을 발견하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 교직이수학생들의반성적 성찰을 통해 교육실습과정에서 어떤 내용을 경험하고 그 경험들에 어떤 의미를 부여하는지 분석해 봄으로써비사범계 교직이수 학생들의 교육실습이 보다 충실하고 효과적이도록 하는데 기초자료를 제공해 줄 수 있다는 점에서의의가 있다

Abstract

This study sought to understand the significance of teaching practicum experiences for students who have completed teaching qualification courses. We examined their perceptions before, during, and after the teaching practicum, and the changes in these perceptions through reflective contemplation. To achieve this, we employed descriptive phenomenology methods to analyze reflection journals, in-depth interview data, and practicum review data written by fourth-year college students during their teaching practicum period. The study found that, first, pre-service teachers' perceptions before the teaching practicum were characterized by a vague admiration for the teaching profession and a favorable attitude toward it, coupled with expectations and anxiety rather than a specific understanding of the teaching practice. Second, their experiences during the teaching practicum period led to a change in their perception of the teaching profession. This change was brought about by reflecting on their own inadequate skills and the need for improvement, the gap between theory and practice, the joy derived from students, and the realities of the teaching profession. They also experienced unsystematic practical training at the training school. Third, after the teaching practicum, pre-service teachers deeply contemplated their teaching aptitude and career decisions. They viewed the teaching practicum as positive experiences that could not be gained in college classes, and recognized their own growth and change. The study provides valuable data that can assist in making the teaching practicum for pre-service teachers more rewarding and effective by analyzing their experiences during the practicum and the significance they attach to these experiences.
